After breakfast, Jerome helped me put together a portable painting pack. Father Rene is picking me and Neil up after lunch to go to Maryhill School of Theology. Am revising a portion of the Saint Louis painting, after which we hold a meeting Apparently many of the ground-floor spaces in the library building are being reassigned. The paintings there will be hung in offices rather than reading rooms.
Sincere sympathies to the immediate family of my eldest brother-in-law, Manny Floro (Lourdes, Raymond, Manuel Jr., Yolanda, and Lily). He accidentally slipped and knocked head in Sydney while they were preparing to have a Mother's Day lunch out, and was unconscious for days. He passed peacefully 4:15 this afternoon.
He was a good and honest man who always tried to please others. I will always remember him fondly for that, and I will always treasure the special gifts he gave me.

When I was about eleven years old, a big fire broke out in a town outside San Fernando, Pampanga, where I was on summer vacation at the time. One of my aunts, whose friend was a fire victim, commuted to the town in question to visit her friend, and tagged me along,
While walking through the ruins of the fire, I felt an impulse to pick up; a tiny, charred piece of wood and put it in my pocket. Back at my aunts' house, I placed the piece of wood on a shelf and felt some kind of power emanating from it.
I have always been partial to fire wands and my enemies have always been punished with fire, and I wonder whether this episode in my boyhood had anything to do with it.
