When cashiers ask whether you want a plastic bag to place the stuff you bought in, they then inform you that there is a PHP 2 "environmental fee" for each bag.
What is an "environmental fee"? Is it a purchased right to contribute to plastic pollution? No wonder the world is terribly polluted. The right is so cheap. It's actually one-fifth of the cost of a bag of street peanuts.
Why not just say that each bag is for sale for PHP 2 instead of all that pretentious posturing?
