This is how frisky Yukiko Taka looks like, but we still won't take photos of her. The runt of the litter, she was abused by her own mother and siblings. When our neighbor handed her over to us, all of the fur on her tail had been chewed off and she had a huge scab on her snout. She was trembling all the time, had night terrors, and was distrustful of people.

Yukiko is now healing and is puppy princess of the laundry room, where she has a white, fluffy sweater for a bed and a white lantern in which tea lights keep her warm at night. She always has three dishes--one for water, another for milk, and another for viands. She has become a very intelligent puppy who understands what we tell her, and is on her way to being a phat poppy dag-deg-dig-dog-doog.
