When a person says that he was working hard and "busting his ass the whole day", I cannot help but think that he is a male prostitute who spent the day lying in bed with clients. One does not bust one's ass on one's feet doing hard work. And if he meant sitting at the computer the whole day, that is really not my idea of doing hard work.
