Brian and I went up to the roof deck this afternoon. He segregated some bitter melon sprouts in individual pots, watered all of the plants, and added his concoction of organic fertilizer comprised of crushed eggshells and grated, assorted fruits and vegetables to the soil. He then sprayed all of the plants with a water mixture containing vinegar and just a few drops of dishwashing detergent to ward off insects and parasites.

I love it when service men on suspended scaffolding are working outside the top windows of Theresa Towers, which is two compound lots away from us. We hear their conversations very clearly. Their voices bounce off the side of the tower onto our roof deck--the reverse principle of the Greek amphitheaters. I could write a play with actors on suspended steel scaffolding, and have the audience on our roof deck! The play would be about air crash victims reminiscing about their lives.
