My reply to Maryhill School of Theology's call for alumni feedback in preparation for its 50th year:
"When I gave a talk as an alumnus in the conference hall, the Dean asked me that question at the very end. I gave a stereotype answer in public. Later, when he visited me in my house, I gave him my private answer: Graduating from MST was not the end, it was merely the beginning of a long, religious journey. Yet, I finally felt free to look into other faiths and other practices, including indigenous ones, with full confidence. I believed, and I still believe, that salvation and heaven are not exclusive to Christianity, as art and literature are not exclusive to any one religion."
