Tony Perez's Rules of Magical Economy:

1. All magic is energy-bound and personality-bound. As such, no two mages can perform identical spells.

2. An older mage can transfer magical knowledge and energy to a younger mage, but he can never transfer his personality. The younger mage will need to rely on his own personality to make his spells work.
