Joey successfully cleared the gutters in our rear passage. The kitchen drain is working perfectly again.
Sent Joey to purchase electrical stuff at the Sitio Catacutan hardware store, then served him lunch in the kitchen. He is now working on two new electrical outlets on the kitchen's north wall.
In the meantime Mario the flower vendor arrived in need of money to buy rice for his family. He offered to do some house cleaning again. I assigned him to clean our two side porches.
Mario always wears a kerchief round his head, bumbles, and mutters nervously to himself. He reminds me so much of Firs in Anton Chekov's The Cherry Orchard.
At around this time--November through the end of December--lots of service persons want to come and clean the house, because they need to save up money for Christmas and the New Year.
