In Greenhills and other flea markets, when a person stops and inquires about an item, two shills approach and gawk at the item, praising it to high heaven. They are actually in collusion with the stall owner and pretend to want the item very much so that the prospective buyer will beat them to it and actually purchase the item.
This happened to me once. Since they didn't know I could read their minds, I turned to them, handed the item to them, and told them that they should buy the item, seeing that they wanted to do so very much. They immediately shut up and walked away.
I did not buy the item.
