LaLaMove makes a night delivery of these authentic, Chinese altar lamps for our Tao altar. The time and the trouble were worth it. Been looking for a pair for the longest time--and have always been disappointed because all of the lamps for sale in Lucky Chinatown are made of plastic. These are made of solid brass and the peach-shaped shades are made of thick glass. (I'm saying peach-shaped but they are also known to be shaped like the tips of calligraphy brushes, in honor of Kwan Ti [Teh-Yah-Kung], the god of war and literature.) Each lamp holds two bulbs.
Now, on a Saturday night, I feel like I am in LaLa Land.
Sometimes, on starless nights, one has no choice but to make one's own stars to shine in the dark.
