Watched Miss Philippines, a 1947 black-and-white, Tagalog movie by LVN on Rap Fernandez's Wall. It was directed by his grandfather Gregorio Fernandez and starred Carlos Padilla, Jr. and Norma Blancaflor. It was quite uncanny watching Carlos Padilla, Jr. perform. He was Robin Padilla and Dennis Padilla rolled into one, both of whom had not yet been born. The movie reminded me of old, Rita Hayworth movies, and I felt that it was quite modern in temper for its time.
Especially loved the ladies' costumes. I learned that geometric appliques were of the 1940s rather than the 1950s.
