Do not place all of your talismans in one location or in one container. You will find that the strongest talisman will disempower everything else, making them what local magic practitioners call "suspendido". 

Similarly, if you live in a house with clutter, know how to place everything in order that the energy of each object will not interfere with one another. This applies even to books on shelves.

There should be at least one room in your house that contains nothing, and that is where your most potent magic will work.

That is why some mages do their spells inside their bathrooms.
