Finished reading
Malice last night. It's about a group of teenagers who get trapped inside a comic book. The publication is impressive, all the way from the embossed, hardbound cover to the high-quality paper to the illustrations of the graphic-novel portions, but it is written like a video game narrative and tends to be boring. Things get interesting only on page 270, which is too far into the book and mainly because the story has a weak point of attack.
I won't bother to get the next volume and might give this one away to Earl.
Retrieved Parker Pyne Investigates to reread. I recall that the DVD version, which my sister Sylvia sent me from Sydney, was directed mainly like an anthology of dark comedies.
