More than halfway through The Woman in White. A delicious novel, but the narrative and especially the dialogue are roundabout and over polite and overproper, like those of the ancient Chinese. But then again I remember how the British copied the Chinese and how the Chinese copied the British.
I recall an exercise that Robin sent me when we were both working in the same office, which is to tell a story in only six words.
Now it has begun to drizzle outside.
