I am not surprised that Caucasians bear even the slightest smattering of hatred for Asians. I worked at the Embassy for 36 years after all, and I've seen it very often in white officers, especially when they get upset or frustrated with their personal lives, and then see that their local employees have nicer cars, nicer houses, nicer jewelry, and nicer clothing--even higher IQs--than they do. When they're out of social ammo they go cold and pretend to be British aristocracy, conveniently forgetting that they have to wash their own ceramic dinnerware.

What surprises me is to see black Americans exercise hatred for Asians. It's such a neurotic posture, and, to me, a pathetic displacement of the hatred whites had toward them for centuries.

In the recent past we all conveniently turned a blind eye to such hatred. But, it was always there, albeit temporarily suppressed by the Flower Power movement of the 60s, the liberation movements of the 70s, the concepts of equality and equal opportunity employment, Christianity, and Islam. Unfortunately, despite all of those, the hatred has already become archetypal and may never go away.
