Watched South Korea's 2023 Hello Ghost (1:43:43), a must-watch for everyone who needs to get out of a depressive mood. It begins as a rollicking comedy: alone in life, despondent young man Hsu Chen-wei tries to end his life in several ways but fails each time. After his last rescue from death, he becomes attracted to the female paramedic who attends to him, but four ghosts attach themselves to him: a chain-smoking man, a weepy woman, an old woman, and a little boy. He is called upon to fulfill their wishes before they leave him.
The movie transits from comedy to a tender love story and heavy drama. Toward the end, an unexpected but delightful flashback ties everything together, and provides excellent catharsis and closure.
