There's something strange in the neighborhood. Our new compound security guard is 18, lives two streets away and walks to and from work, yet reports an average of only four times a week. The agency neither reprimands him nor pulls him out. Whenever he is at work his friends come and visit him at the main gate, often to bring him food that his parents prepared. He doesn't socialize with any of the compound staff and tenants. He didn't finish high school; instead, he completed the ALS system. I have a suspicion that his family is very well off, that he is a spoiled brat, and that he signed up as a security guard just to have to something to show for being employed.
