Having a cafe in front of our house is an idea I don't regret. Neighbors come in to hold business meetings, couples for coffee dates, groups for a round of drinks, individuals to take meals that they would rather be served and that they're too lazy to cook at home. It's like having an ongoing party in front of our house all the time. And we never go hungry, though the grandchildren don't like ordering the same food over and over again. Didn't I also mention elsewhere that the cafe never shut down all throughout the three-year pandemic?
M., fortunately, has an entire range of cousins and nephews with cooking and food serving experience. Most of them worked in restaurants. And, when they need extra money during their days off, I hire them to do odd jobs around the house.
