Tips for making your children and grandchildren feel emotionally secure at home:
1) Always set the table for meals at regular hours.
2) Take meals with your children at the dining table or, at least, sit with them while they are taking their meals.
3) Until they come home in the evening or at night, keep the porch lights on, and at least one room inside the house brightly lighted.
4) Know what snacks and dessert food they really like.
5) Stay home when they are studying for and taking exams.
6) Take care of them when they are sick, but do not compel them to take care of you when you are sick.
7) Do not forget their birthdays and other important dates.
8) Treat their friends as though they were your children or grandchildren too.
9) Even if they clean their own rooms, hire someone to clean their rooms thoroughly from time to time.
10) Tell them that you love them, and mean it.
