Had a chilled, big, red dragon fruit at 1:50 PM. Tastes like sugar-free ice cream, and feels like eating the beating heart of a dragon. I love that the stand across the street has them. It is one of my favorite fruit, along with mango and overripe kiwi, which is like exquisite, edible celadon.
The juice of the red dragon fruit is the exact, same color of dragon's blood ink. You can actually use that as an environment-friendly ink, if you can be bothered to strain the juice and separate it from its million seeds.
Another pigment that can be used to brush on as color is the juice of turmeric, which is a bright, Mandarin yellow.
