Most Philippine magic (and take note that I said "most", not "all") is low magic because its spirit guides are not celestial beings but elemental beings. When you come upon words that are neither Latin nor any other language, it is because they are cafre words or the actual names of cafres being invoked.

I even have a strong suspicion that, despite their use of the images of saints and archangels, such images are mere fronts to disguise these elemental beings.
